[Bearbeiten] Cub Swanson fought past retirement thoughts, ghastly injurie

The worst pain Cub Swanson felt in his professional fighting career came after he busted nearly every bone in his face. Swanson could deal with the broken jaw, nose, cheekbone and orbital bone. He said he arrived at the hospital “kind of cheery” for the surgery following the freak training accident. Then he saw something that hurt him more than the knee that had re-arranged his exterior. His birth mother and adopted mother, both of whom raised Swanson at different times of his life, were in the waiting room bawling. Worried about her son’s health and bewildered by his temperament, Swanson remembers his birth mother “flipping out.” “What is wrong with you,” Swanson remembers her asking. “Do you think this is normal? You’re in the hospital about to get facial surgery.” Swanson’s heart sank. Through seven years in mixed martial arts, he had never realized the toll his profession took on those around him. “It was tough to see my mom cry,” the 29-year old Swanson confided. “It never hit home that it affected people, my family, so much. It made me question whether it was all worth it.” He had plenty of time to come up with the answer. Training was out of the question for several weeks after the operations. Heck, doctors wouldn’t even permit him to eat solid food for two months. “I had to ask myself if I was OK with what I accomplished so far,” Swanson said. “It came to me pretty quick that I wasn’t, that I hadn’t lived up to my potential.” Swanson describes returning smarter and hungrier, a claim the results validate. He dropped his first fight back, getting submitted by Ricardo Lamas in the first round at UFC on Fox 1, but has won four in a row since. Ranked No. 5 in the division, cheap nike nfl jerseys, Swanson (19-5 MMA,Incoming AD Hermann to visit Rutgers later this week, 4-1 UFC) is extremely close to a featherweight title shot heading into a matchup against Dennis Siver (21-8 MMA, 11-5 UFC) Saturday on the main card of UFC 162. “He’s looked great,” UFC President Dana White said. “We’ll have to find out: He’s got to beat the No. 1 contender, and then get that shot.” A part of Swanson believes the UFC is denying him that opportunity, though. He initially resisted a booking against the sixth-ranked Siver. When UFC matchmakers explained that the 145-pound fighters ahead of him ― champion Jose Aldo, Anthony Pettis, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Ricardo Lamas ― were already booked, he caved. “I agreed to the fight but said, ‘if Aldo,NFL Jerseys Online Shop, Zombie, Pettis or Lamas get hurt, can I please move up?’ They kind of said, ‘we’ll see.’ But that was my intention,” Swanson said. A knee injury, of course, forced Pettis out of his UFC 163 title shot against Aldo. Swanson was left waiting for a replacement call that never came. The UFC slotted Jung in against Aldo ― leaving Lamas without a fight all together ― much to the chagrin of Swanson. “He hasn’t faced any of the competition that Lamas or I has,” Swanson said of The Korean Zombie. “He’s up there, but I don’t even think he’s top five.” Some see Swanson as a long shot to ever get another bout against Aldo after he lost by knockout in eight seconds when they met in the WEC four years ago. What Swanson thinks people forget is that his only losses in the last five years were to Aldo, Chad Mendes and Lamas ― the top three-ranked featherweights in the world. Knowing he’s beaten everyone except the absolute best is a consolation to Swanson. “Especially because those were my off-days,” Swanson said. “Those were when I was coming in off of a win and got over-aggressive. I feel like I beat myself in all of those fights.” He reviewed the Aldo and Lamas defeats while in recovery from surgery. Swanson began dreaming up things he could have done differently not only in the fights, but also in his preparation. Some of those thoughts were what pushed him towards giving fighting another run. “I knew I had a life after fighting,” he explained. “I know I’m going to be getting into bed with my jaw wired, on pain medications and stuff like that. But that just got me to thinking about how much I wanted to achieve.” His mothers were understanding about his decision. Not that they really had a choice. “They know I’m hard-headed and have to learn things the hard way sometimes,” Swanson said. “All they can do is support me because they know if they tell me I shouldn’t do something, I’m probably going to do it anyway. Luckily they’ve had my back but obviously they were worried. I think it’s satisfying for them to see me succeed right now.”

Facebook Fark Digg Reddit Stumble Joe Downtown: Ferguson Motel being converted into taverns, retailspaces By () Wednesday, July 3, 2013 | 1:57 p.m. Built more than 60 years ago, the Ferguson Motel is one of the nicer-looking pieces of Vegas memorabilia still upright on Fremont Street. It???s been closed for several months, however, wholesale NFL Jerseys, after Downtown Project partners purchased it in December for $5 million. A fence surrounds the more than 1 acre of property at 1028 Fremont. When the fence comes down, according to plans submitted with the city, it won???t be a motel anymore. The current parking lot serving three buildings, which form a horseshoe around the lot, cheap jerseys, will be converted into nearly 9,000 square feet of patio, according to the plans. In city documents, staff confirm parking requirements aren???t needed for the space because it lies within the city???s Downtown Centennial Plan boundaries. Kessler wrote. The motel???s 69 rooms will be converted into 31 retail outlets in sizes ranging from 280 to 1,040 square feet. According to a schematic, the motel???s registration office will become a coffee shop. Two buildings just north of the motel will be converted into private offices. Kessler also wrote the project would "provide a much needed amenity to the new wave of urbanites that are now living Downtown, as well as attract other suburban area residents to come experience what is occurring Downtown.??? [Bearbeiten] Alaska ferries lose nature experts to budget cuts

JUNEAU (AP) As the sun creeps into the sleeping quarters of the Tustumena, passengers who take a second to look out the window wake up to volcanic topography, sky blue lakes and wildlife that looks extraterrestrial even to most Alaskans.

That ethereal experience only lasts a few seconds; the berth s stripped-down bunk beds and dreary wallpaper quickly remind passengers they are sailing on a ferry that is almost 50 years old.
Having a ship that s a vestige of another era, however, does offer one small perk: During the summer, a handful of vessels have a nature expert on board who teaches passengers about the stunning local scenery and animals.
Alaska s state-owned ferries which shuttle residents and tourists between remote towns on the coasts of Washington state, Canada and Alaska are scaling back costs by getting rid of the naturalist program on all but one of the 11-ship fleet this year.
State officials say the program may eventually be brought back, but for now, the plan is to replace them with computerized equipment and brochures on the so-called Alaska Marine Highway System, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
In light of Alaska s declining revenues and an unclear financial future, the state s various departments were asked to bring expenses down by eliminating items that do not affect core functions.
Naturalists, who are hired and paid by the U.S. Forest Service or the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,Cheap nfl jerseys USA, make about $22,000 a season. The state provides them free room and board on the ferry, which costs about $5,000 per year, per ship, according to Jeremy Woodrow, a spokesman for the Alaska Department of Transportation, the department responsible for the ferry system.
The core purpose of the marine highway system really is providing transportation as a highway, Woodrow said.
The Marine Highway system is an aging, bare-boned necessity. Only four of the 11 ships in the fleet were built after 1980, but they remain a crucial link connecting the state s coastal cities to the rest of the world. The only way to reach Alaska s capital, Juneau, for instance, is to fly or take a ferry. There are no roads in or out of the rugged terrain.
Many of the ferries passengers are Alaska residents shuttling from town to town or back from the mainland. But the trips also draw adventuresome tourists looking for an off-the-beaten-path vacation.
The naturalists, called interpreters, are a valuable tool for tourists and residents because staff members don t have time to play tour guide, according to Doug Stuart,Numbers Game- Jets land Setoguchi from Wild, who served as the Tustumena s naturalist for over a decade.
Stuart, 71, is now out of work for the first summer in 12 years. He gets social security, but does odd jobs in the winter to supplement his income. Without the money from the naturalist job, Stuart and his wife are selling their big house in town with a mortgage where they currently live together after raising five children there and moving to a smaller one on the outskirts of town that he s been building for the last few years.
Erin Kirkland, the publisher of, a website dedicated to family travel and outdoor activities in Alaska, said she is sad to see the naturalists go because a lot more tourists are starting to take the ferries instead of cruise ships. She and her family also enjoy the interpreters when they take the ferries.
They have all the maps. They ve got all the information about the communities you re headed to, the national forests, the national parks, and they will offer very insightful information, she said. It s just a really nice fit.
Interpreter programs on many ships began disappearing when funding from the federal government became less certain, Woodrow said.
Without knowing for sure whether the federal government would be able to pay for interpreters in the future, the Department of Transportation is now hesitant to sign a contract to rent out a room for them.
That s space that could be used to transport Alaska s tourists and in-state travelers, the department said.
This summer will be the first time in 23 years that the Tustumena doesn t have a naturalist on board,Pebble Partnership touts economic impact, according to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service official Larry Bell.
It s a loss for tourists because the state ferry system is the one of the few ways to see the Aleutian Islands. Cruise ships mostly travel southeast Alaska, with some venturing to Anchorage and Kodiak.
I m really befuddled,Dallas Cowboys Jerseys outlet, because to save a few bucks on what they pay for me to ride and do all the work for the passengers is eventually going to bite them, Stuart said. I m afraid that the state of Alaska is going to be hurt a little more deeply than just not getting ferry revenues. I think people just might not come to Alaska if they really wanted to do a ferry trip.

[Bearbeiten] Smoak, Hernandez lead Mariners over Red Sox

Smoak, Hernandez lead Mariners over Red Sox{eot}The Canadian Press7/9/2013 2:17:53 AMText Size SEATTLE -- doesn't know when his final game will be and he's playing like it won't be anytime soon. Seattle's 41-year-old outfielder hit his 22nd home run to help win his ninth game in the Mariners' 11-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Monday night. Ibanez's home run -- on a 0-2 pitch from Red Sox starter (8-5) -- broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth. It was his seventh go-ahead home run this season and extended his hitting streak to 13 games.

At some point last year (with the Yankees), I started acting like it was my last game,Cheap NFL Jerseys for sale, said Ibanez, who turned 41 on June 2. I asked myself the questions, 'How would I act, what would I think about, how would I prepare?' I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could.
I'm 41. You can't play this game forever. I used that approach. Hopefully, I can share that approach with the younger guys, telling them,Alaska ferries lose nature experts to budget cuts, 'Hey, time goes by really fast. Enjoy this.'

Ibanez needs eight more home runs to pass Ted Williams for the most home runs by a 41-year-old. Williams hit 29 at age 41 in 1960, his final season with the Red Sox.

He's found -- almost -- the fountain of youth, Red Sox manager John Farrell said. He's at 22 home runs tonight. Obviously, it speaks to a lot of hard work.

Hernandez (9-4) held the Red Sox to two runs and six hits over seven innings. He walked two, struck out six and maintained his 2.69 ERA, second lowest in the American League behind teammate 's 2.60.

The offence came today, Hernandez said. Raul do the same thing he's been doing for like two months, cheap jerseys china, and we win the game.

Hernandez allowed two or fewer runs for the 13th time in 19 starts.

He wasn't as tough as I've seen him in the past when he was throwing 96-97, but he still is a great pitcher, Red Sox catcher said. He goes out there and throws all his pitches for strikes and still gets of lot of swings and misses.
had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs for Seattle. had two doubles and three RBIs.

Seattle pounded out 15 hits in winning for the fifth time in seven games. Boston has lost three straight, matching its season high. Entering the game, the Mariners had just two hits in its previous 32 at-bats with runners in scoring position, and were on an 0-for-19 run. After three innings, the run had grown to 0 for 25.

opened the fourth with a hard single to left. followed with a single that just ticked off second baseman 's glove. The ball trickled into right field, allowing Morales to reach third.

With one out, Smoak finally broke the stretch of futility with double just inside the third-base bag. Morales scored and Seager advanced to third. Mike Zunino walked to load the bases and Saunders walked to drive in Seager. Smoak said failing to hit in the clutch is harder because you want it so bad.

You put a lot of pressure on yourself instead of going up there relaxed looking for a good pitch to hit and putting a good swing on it, Smoak said. I've been watching Raul do it all the time, and (Kendrys) Morales and Seag.

Boston responded in the top of the fifth with a pair of runs. had a RBI single and raced home from third on a wild pitch to make it 2-2. Ibanez's leadoff home run in the fifth gave the Mariners the lead for good. He has hit eight home runs in his last 13 games and the Mariners have hit at least one home run in 16 straight games.

I felt I executed that pitch fairly well, enough to not have that result, Lester said of his cutter to Ibanez. Obviously, he was sitting on it. It's frustrating because it is 0-2, but it was the pitch I wanted to go to.

Ibanez has 203 doubles and 149 home runs as a Mariner. He is one home run from joining Ken Griffey Jr., , Jay Buhner and Alvin Davis as the only Mariners with at least 200 doubles and 150 home runs. Smoak, Ibanez, Brad Miller and added RBI hits. and each had RBI doubles in the eighth. NOTES: With RHP designated for assignment Monday, the Mariners need a starter Thursday. We'll be pulling someone up for that, Manager Eric Wedge said. It could be RHP , coming back from a triceps strain, or RHP , who began the year with the big club. . Wedge said has worked his way back into the closer role after a three-week absence for inconsistency. . The Red Sox were without (left wrist) and (left hamstring), so manager John Farrell said he had to go with a makeshift lineup. Ellsbury is working on a season-high 17-game hit streak and has a major league-high 36 steals. . LHP is expected to have surgery for a damaged left foot ligament and likely will be out for the season.

[Bearbeiten] McEwen likes his chances at Canadian Curling Trials

McEwen likes his chances at Canadian Curling Trials{eot}The Canadian Press4/23/2013 5:14:24 PMText SizeMike McEwen got a chance to experience the Olympics during an observer visit to London last summer. He'll have an opportunity to make his next appearance at the Games as an athlete. McEwen and five other men's skips have qualified for the Dec. 1-8 Canadian Curling Trials -- the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings -- at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Six spots in the women's draw have also been finalized with the four remaining berths (two men, two women) to be decided at a pre-trials event in November. The men's and women's winners of the Trials will represent Canada at the Sochi Games next year in Russia. McEwen said he took advantage of an opportunity to go to the 2012 London Games when the Canadian Olympic Committee had a few observer spots available for curlers without world-level experience.

The thing that stuck out for me I suppose was being in Canada House and all the family,Cheap Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys, friends and that kind of environment that's there for the athletes, McEwen said Tuesday on a conference call. It's pretty electric when they're celebrating somebody that wins a medal on any given night.
Just that feeling probably stuck out the most.

The 32-year-old skip watched some diving,Car driver dies when he crashes into stopped bus, beach volleyball and soccer while in London. He felt the sheer scope of the Games was an eye opener.

It gave me a really good perspective on how much preparation is really involved and underestimating that kind of stuff going into it is something that you definitely don't want to do, he said. And that can even apply to your own sport -- whether it's a national championship or a provincial championship -- you can take things away on how to prepare and compete at whatever level you're at.

McEwen called his London experience overwhelmingly inspiring.

I got a good view of all the distractions and everything that those athletes go through, he said. It was definitely a good learning event and gave a lot of motivation and inspiration. It was all good and I can only imagine what it would be like actually competing in something like that myself.
Even just as an observer, it was quite enlightening to be able to go to that.

McEwen earned a berth at the Trials through the two-year Canadian Team Ranking System standings. It rewards teams for consistent play over an extended period of time.

It finally feels like we're getting to go to the show, McEwen said of his team. I guess when you combine that with playing in front of the home crowd, we've all talked about it and we all get goose bumps thinking about it. It's going to be something that's probably a little bit indescribable.
We're hoping the intensity, the adrenalin,China's Li Na beats Schiavone to win French Open,Dallas Cowboys Jerseys outlet, hopefully we can use that as a good thing for our play on the ice.

Veteran skips Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., Kevin Martin of Edmonton and Winnipeg's Jeff Stoughton all locked up berths in the Trials well before last week's season-ending Grand Slam in Toronto. Three more spots were given to McEwen, Calgary's Kevin Koe and Toronto's John Epping from their results in the CTRS standings.

I like our chances, McEwen said. I like that in a lot of people's eyes we're a bit of an underdog. That's definitely a role that's not going to really hurt us. It's just going to take an amazing performance for whichever team actually (wins) at the end of the day.

In women's play, Winnipeg's Jennifer Jones, Edmonton's Heather Nedohin and Saskatoon's Stefanie Lawton were the early women's qualifiers. They'll be joined by Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Sherry Middaugh of Victoria Harbour, Ont., and Winnipeg's Chelsea Carey. The draw for the Roar of Rings will be announced Friday. A total of 24 teams (12 men, 12 women's) will participate in the Nov. 5-10 Capital One Road to the Roar Pre-Trials at the Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Ont. The official list of team entries will be released May 1. Martin defeated Norway's Thomas Ulsrud in the gold-medal game at the 2010 Vancouver Games. Sweden's Anette Norberg beat Canada's Cheryl Bernard for the women's title. The 2014 Olympic curling competition will begin Feb. 10 at the Ice Cube Curling Center.

[Bearbeiten] A plea for Monday’s game three

Assuming the Louisville Cardinals move past the ninth-seeded Wichita State Shockers in Saturday's NCAA Final Four semi-final round, the sports world will hurl its attention Monday night towards one of the biggest events of the year; Louisville's Kevin Ware sitting on the sidelines. The biggest and perhaps only universally recognizable player of the NCAA tournament won't even be playing on Monday night, and people will tune in to see CBS cut to shots of Ware providing inspiration all night long. (Sources I don't really have tell me the over/under on Ware cameos on CBS is 14?, while the number of times commentators refer to him as "this brave young man" is 5?.) For those fans whose teams were eliminated from the NCAA tournament early and have moved onto baseball season, Ware was made an involuntary hero by suffering a freakishly nauseating injury that brought Louisville coach Rick Pitino to tears for the first time since Pitino realized he wasn't the highest paid guy on the Boston Celtics' bench. Hockey buckets off to Ware for as he lay exposed on coast-to-coast television crushed with a slicing sword of pain and the deafening din of possible shock coagulating his team by telling them to go out and win that thing. A selfless awareness and action, it was admirable beyond imagination. In contrast, I'm sure I would have screamed something rather nasty about somebody's mother, told Pitino that his wardrobe was excessive for the Derby City, and insisted that everyone in Las Vegas not forget the Wranglers play Game 3 of the first round of the ECHL Kelly Cup Championship Playoffs at the Orleans Arena on, of all nights, the night the NCAA hoops crown is awarded C and all while sounding exactly like Howard Dean on the campaign trail. But that just would have been me. Because back in Las Vegas, the Wranglers plagued most days with their own number of inspirational and grotesque injuries begin anew the trek to win 16 more games in a quest for the Kelly Cup. Step one is the best-of-seven opening round against the Stockton Thunder. Games 1 and 2 are in Stockton, this Friday and Saturday. Hosting an ECHL professional hockey first round, game 3 in a sports betting town on NCAA Monday is like your pregnant wife planning her husbands-must-attend baby shower for 5:30 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday. So, perhaps, here is a humble beginning to raising awareness for Monday night's contest against Stockton: "Psst... there is a Wranglers Round One playoff contest against Stockton on Monday." Wranglers fans have helped the organization mitigate to some extent such challenges before. Capping off a banner season in attendance, last Friday night's crowd of 6,769 braved the jam caused by a double booking of parking lots around the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas locals were rewarded with a dramatic Wranglers season finale shootout win. The charged, playoff-caliber crowd blew the roof off the place, landing it somewhere on a bunch of classic cars, tatted up hipsters and some BBQ tents. Fan emotion converts to electricity which transfers to those playing the game. Ask any player or coach. And it's in this where Las Vegas's inability to secure workable home playoff dates give the Stockton Thunder a distinct competitive advantage. Games 1,cheap nike nfl jerseys, 2, 6 and 7 in Stockton all fall on two Fridays, a Saturday and a Sunday. Does Ware's injury amp up Louisville's already charged odds of winning it all? Magic 8-Ball says, "Outlook good." That's a lot of fan emotion, and a lot of electricity. Louisville fans have, with genuine hearts on sleeves, jumped on the feel-good theme. They have all but retired No. 5 on social media, placed their figurative Rudy high upon their shoulders, and encouraged all to Ware red all week. But for those who have grown Warey of a regional rallying cry gone quasi-national,cheap jerseys,Hernandez arrest, surgeries for Gronk weaken Patri, the local professional hockey team is just beginning a championship quest, and it begins with a radar-eluding schedule. To get to a second round, a team has to navigate the first round. For the Wranglers, it all begins at home on Monday night. For Wranglers fans and locals, here is a humble suggestion that the Wareabouts of the NCAA Basketball Finals are unknown. Billy Johnson is the president and chief operating officer of the .

[Bearbeiten] Flirting with short

When your house plunges in value and you can’t afford the mortgage, it can be tempting to short sell to friends or relatives and just rent from them. It’s a temptation some Las Vegans act on, even though it can send them to jail. But later this year, a new law could make such arrangements a lot more common. In a short sale, lenders agree to sell a house for less than what’s owed on the mortgage. Mountains of paperwork are needed to close the deal, including a signed document that says the sale is between people who didn’t know each other before the deal came about and who have no agreement to let the sellers stay as renters or buy back the house. Banks are not required by law to get that signed promise, known as an “arm’s length” agreement. But they usually do, and if the sellers lie about their connection to the buyers, it’s fraud. According to two local real estate agents, using a “straw buyer,” or a front man, wholesale NFL Jerseys, in short sales does happen in the valley,Source- Warriors to sign free agent Speights, but they could only guess as to how often. “I guarantee it exists, absolutely,” said Keith Lynam, of Windermere Prestige Properties. Beth Ellyn Rosenthal, of eXp Realty, said a married couple in her Henderson neighborhood short sold their home to the wife’s mother. The buyer has a different last name from the couple and is renting it back to them. “I would imagine, gut feeling, (this) happens a lot, but I don’t think anyone wants to talk about it,” Rosenthal said. It’s not clear how often people get charged with these schemes in Southern Nevada. Although it appears to be rare, . A federal grand jury on Wednesday indicted 41-year-old Cynthia Hosbrook, a licensed real estate agent, and her husband, 51-year-old Robert Hosbrook, a former licensed real estate agent. Charged with bank fraud and conspiracy to commit bank fraud, the Hosbrooks are accused of short-selling their Henderson house, 2704 Mallard Landing Ave., to a relative whom Cynthia Hosbrook enlisted as a straw buyer. The Hosbrooks planned to remain in the house and lied on their arm’s length agreement with Wells Fargo Bank, according to the indictment. If convicted, the Hosbrooks face up to 30 years in prison and up to $1 million in fines on each count, prosecutors said. They have been summoned to appear for an initial hearing and arraignment June 21 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carl W. Hoffman. Robert Hosbrook bought the Mallard Landing house for $470,000 in February 2005, during the housing bubble. In July 2010, after the recession hit, he and his wife sold it for $250,000 to a woman named Sarah M. Fuller, according to Clark County property records. Efforts to reach the Hosbrooks and Fuller by phone were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, the odds of getting charged with fraud for this kind of arrangement could soon plunge. Gov. Brian Sandoval this month signed SB321, known as the “Homeowner’s Bill of Rights.” It takes effect Oct. 1, and as part of the law, banks cannot force sellers in a short-sale transaction to sign an arm’s length agreement. The Nevada Association of Realtors backed the bill. Lynam, the group’s 2013 legislative chairman, said there is no reason to force a family to leave a house that was sold through a short sale, and it shouldn’t matter whether the sellers’ relatives buy the place. “It’s never made sense to me,cheap jerseys,” he said.

[Bearbeiten] Cities hold the key to America’s evolution, not revolution

June 23,Report- Warriors, Nuggets, Jazz together in deal for Iguodal, 2013 4:59 a.m. In reply to Brian Greenspun; every time you get to writing about these so-called know it all Think-Tank Commandos , I should just walk away and pay absolutely no mind to the content of your writings. I know you sit on the upper perches and look down. And what you see are stupid people who are politically bickering and continually voting in candidates who will bring forth more economic stalemate and gridlock. So now you say The Metropolitan Revolution is the flocks answer. How nice, Bruce Katz and Jennifer Bradley in this for sale book will be giving us all a recap on our government and political fiascoes,Dallas Cowboys Jerseys outlet, botches and catastrophes. And what is your selling point of this book? Earth shattering how you assure us that Katz and Bradley tell us that, Nothing, absolutely nothing gets done which means the United States will go backward as the rest of the world moves forward and some countries even surpass us. Wow!!! Thank God for the team of Katz and Bradley. I would have never figured that one out on my own! And now you go on Mr. Greenspun assuring us that the book of Katz and Bradley will show us the way to a much better and brighter future. But,Cheap Wholesale Nike NFL Jerseys, not so fast Mr. Greenspun. You first interjected, very strategically, At this point I have to acknowledge a bias. I am a big fan of Katz, whose work this past decade gave rise to what is now Brookings Mountain West at UNLV. Mr. Greenspun, I thought you would know better. As you described our structure, Mr. Greenspun, you wrote words to the effect of, We have a broken system of government and politics . I say to you Mr. Greenspun, you should have known that where a conflict of interest arises, such as your endorsement of the book entitled, The Metropolitan Revolution , removing your presence would have been the only ethical thing to do. [Bearbeiten] Liberals to reveal plan to offer $6000 carrot to long

These are sensible, targeted measures to help get people off welfare and into work, he said. More than 140,000 Australians have been unemployed for more than 12 months. If elected, we will take real action to get them into work. The bonuses will cost $75 million over the forward estimates. Mr Abbott, who has been under pressure to release detailed policy costings, has indicated that he will release more information on his planned savings later this week. The Advertiser will later today reveal that Wakefield - the Labor-held electorate that includes the troubled Holden factory - is a welfare black hole, with one in every 4.6 people on a social security benefit.More: This afternoon, will release the results of a poll of Wakefield, which is held by Nick Champion and has become a key battleground over jobs since the car industry hit the skids.South Australia's unemployment rate hit 7.1 per cent earlier this month, the highest it has been since 2002. The national rate is 5.2 per cent. The Department of Employment, Education and Workplace Relations released figures earlier this year that showed sharp increases in long-term unemployment.About 443,000 Australians have spent at least a year on Newstart, cheap nfl jerseys, a 20 per cent increase over the previous year and a much higher figure than that quoted by Mr Abbott.Under a Coalition Government:PEOPLE aged 18 to 30 who have been out of work for a year or more and get Newstart or the Youth Allowance will get a $2500 Job Commitment Bonus if they stay in a job and off welfare for a year.THEY will be eligible for another Job Commitment Bonus of $4000 if they stay off welfare for two years.THE relocation assistance of up to $6000 will be available to people who have been on the dole for more than a year and is not available people moving between or within capital cities.FAMILIES with dependent children will get an extra $3000 to cover relocation costs.Mr Abbott has previously announced that he would revitalise the work-for-the-dole program.Analysis: The Coalition would make anyone aged under 50 work for the dole, and suspend benefits for people under 30 in areas where unskilled work is readily available .Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has made jobs and growth a key focus, but appears to have been gazumped by the Coalition because he has not made any major unemployment announcements yet.Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard announced a $1 billion jobs plan in February, which includes legislation to ensure local firms can bid on large projects.Yesterday, Mr Rudd and said it was infrastructure that would deliver jobs. This vast continent of ours has 23 million people in it. Unless you've got the infrastructure pumping, well frankly, it's not going to work and that is a core part of our vision for the future, he said. Because if the infrastructure is working and the new industries are being built,Cheap NFL Jerseys for sale, so we don't have all our eggs in one basket, then the bottom line is this: that jobs are there for the future. If you don't have a job in the future, you don't have economic security. We are passionate, therefore, about building those jobs for the future. The Government has been resisting calls to increase Newstart for the long-term unemployed. [Bearbeiten] Interchange cap 'hurts players'

1. If you're going to cap interchanges,Dallas Cowboys Jerseys outlet, what's the point in capping at a number just 3 fewer per qtr than what clubs are currently doing?2. Scenario: You've used up your interchange quota with 5 mins left in the game and you then cop an injury. Either the injured player has to stay on (isn't that against the spirit of injury care?) or you play one short for the last few minutes. Alternatively,Flagrantly Early, Incredibly Half, you have to keep below quota (i.e. keep a few interchanges up your sleeve in Q4).3. Coaches and interchange personnel have a hard enough time keeping managing interchanges as it is. This rule change is a further paperwork complication and yet another unnecessary one. Stand by for more goals gifted through interchange breaches - but if these do occur, they will be at the most important stage of the game.4. What is the point? 5. Where is the evidence to justify the change?6. Who, other than AFL bureaucrats,25 Hilarious Things That Make You Wonder..., has advocated such a change? IIRC,Cheap nfl jerseys USA, clubs / coaches have been against a cap and AFAIK the AFLPA hasn't requested it either. This just seems to be yet another of the not thought through changes to rules. IMHO there are some important changes to rules / interpretations that need to be considered (mainly to counter undesirable consequences from recent era rule changes introduced by the AFL without the AFL having the foresight to predict such consequences). Instead of the AFL addressing such consequences so that fewer umpiring decisions are 50-50 (re which way it gets paid) and fewer players are risking injury by exploiting these rule changes, the AFL deems it much more important to introduce a new red-tape rule with no demonstrated benefit.

[Bearbeiten] Please use smaller planes- Nepal warns airlines over state o

"We have requested them not to use big aircraft because with their huge loads, they tend to put pressure on the airport and cause damage to the runway," Ratish Chandra Lal Suman, the authority's director general, said.

He said the surface of sections of the 3000-metre long runway has lifted causing small holes, while cracks have also been found.
Some flights were delayed at Tribhuvan International Airport and others were diverted to Lucknow in neighbouring India as well as the Bangladesh capital, while ground crews conducted repairs.
"Most flights are operating during the day, so we can repair only for about 20 minutes. During the night, we spend more time on the repair, cheap jerseys china," he said.
Although all airlines have been notified only some - including Air Asia, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways and Korean Air - operate the wide-body Boeing 777s and Airbus 330s through the airport,5 Reasons to break the DRM on your ebooks (and free your col, he said.
Suman said the notification was "a request and not a ban," adding that "it would be better if they can fly smaller aircraft."
He said it was unclear what caused the cracks and the government has commissioned a Spanish contractor to submit a report on the runway conditions which was expected by September.
"We are waiting for the report. When it's presented,NFL Jerseys Online Shop, we will know for sure what is causing the damage to the runway," he said.
In June 2011, fights were disrupted at the airport for several hours when a section of the runway subsided, apparently due to strong monsoon rains.
The government pledged then to investigate, promising to form a high-level committee but little resulted from it.
Experts at the time pointed to weak subsoil under the runway, which was threatened by rivers and waterways that flow around the 50-year-old airport.
Suman said he was aware of the possible impact on tourism, which is a mainstay of the tiny Himalayan nation.
"We know that it will impact the tourism sector. But we also have to save the airport from further damage," Suman said.
An average of 70 planes land and depart from Kathmandu on a daily basis.
Every day, around 4000 people arrive by air into Kathmandu, while the number of foreign visitors peaks during September and October, according to Nepal's tourism ministry.

[Bearbeiten] Rolf Harris on underage sex assault charges

Harris was arrested last November by officers from Operation Yewtree five days after a search warrant was executed at his Berkshire home. Operation Yewtree was established to investigate allegations of sex crimes and child abuse by the late DJ Jimmy Savile and other broadcasting celebrities up to 50 years ago. Britain's Crown Prosecution Service, cheap nike nfl jerseys, which was referred the matter just weeks ago,Podcast- Baylor football, said its decision to charge Harris was in the public interest . Chief crown prosecutor Alison Saunders said: We have carefully considered the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police Service as part of Operation Yewtree in relation to Rolf Harris. Having completed our review, we have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Harris to be charged with nine counts of indecent assault and four of making indecent images of a child. The increasingly frail Harris has been painting and building a new shed at his Bray home in Berkshire outside London since first being questioned by Scotland Yard. He has made two public appearances of his popular variety stage show in that time, telling the audiences that he greatly appreciated their unfailing support. Harris was awarded an MBE in 1968, an OBE in 1977 and a CBE in 2006. He was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours list last year. Fourteen people have been arrested under Operation Yewtree. Harris, DJ Dave Lee Travis,NFL Jerseys Online Shop, public relations guru Max Clifford and former BBC chauffeur David Smith are the only ones to have been charged with sex offences. [Bearbeiten] Did Earth Life Begin on Mars-

Is the red planet actually our home? New research suggests that life on Earth actually began on Mars billions of years ago,Cheap nfl jerseys USA,  News reported. Scientists based their research on a theory that the first molecules necessary for life required minerals best suited to forging RNA, ribonucleic acid – the building block of life believed to have predated DNA. Scientists believe that RNA was the first chemical to distinguish life from the “pre-biotic” chemical soup that existed on Earth more than three billion years ago. Prof. Steven Benner discussed the theory at the meeting of the Goldschmidt Geochemical Society in Florence, Italy, on Thursday. The creation of RNA takes finesse. It has to be shaped by “templating” atoms at the crystalline surfaces of minerals. On our planet, those minerals would have dissolved into the ocean, but on Mars they stood a chance. Other elements needed in the process of creating RNA, like boron, did not exist on Earth at the time. "What’s quite clear is that boron, as an element, is quite scarce in Earth’s crust, but Mars has been drier than Earth and more oxidising, so if Earth is not suitable for the chemistry, Mars might be," Benner told BBC. Benner said analysis of a Martian meteorite proves the presence of boron on Mars. Another element,George Zimmerman not by wife's side as she pleads guilty, an oxidized form of molybdenum, probably did not exist on Earth at the time RNA came into existence. "This form of molybdenum couldn’t have been available on Earth at the time life first began, because three billion years ago, the surface of the Earth had very little oxygen, but Mars did,” Benner said. "It’s yet another piece of evidence which makes it more likely life came to Earth on a Martian meteorite, rather than starting on this planet." Benner suggests RNA began on Mars and traveled her on meteorites.  “The evidence seems to be building that we are actually all Martians; that life started on Mars and came to Earth on a rock,New Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap," Benner said. "It’s lucky that we ended up here, nevertheless — as certainly Earth has been the better of the two planets for sustaining life. If our hypothetical Martian ancestors had remained on Mars, there may not have been a story to tell." It was announced this week that a private company hoping to colonize Mars in 2023 has fallen short of its projected 1 million applicants. Only 165,000 people applied to take the one-way trip to Mars.
